Photography Classes in Tauranga
These are six week workshops held at the Art & Crafts Centre, 177 Elizabeth Street on Wednesday evenings from 7-9pm.
Beyond the Basics - Next class starts Mid 2018
This course is suitable for anyone who has complete the ‘Taking Your Camera Off Automatic’ class or similar introductory class. It is also suitable for people who have considerable photography and who understand the basic concepts. it covers using filters, metering for tricky light situations, low light or night photography, macro or close-up photography, using your on-camera flash and an introduction to photographing people.
Taking Your Camera Off Automatic - Next class starts 21st February 2018
This is a six week workshop held at the Art & Crafts Centre on Wednesday evenings from 7-9pm. These classes cover focussing - composition - aperture priority - shutter priority - manual and exposure. Both how to set your camera and why and when you might want to use these settings.
The Requirements are:
1. A willingness to learn how to use your camera when it is not on automatic
2. A camera which has Aperture priority (A) - Shutter priority (S or Tv) - and Manual modes.
No previous knowledge of photography is necessary.
Introduction to Photography
The online courses ‘Taking Your Camera Off Automatic” and ‘Beyond the Basics” cover the same information as the classes (see information above). They may suit people who don’t live in Tauranga or who cannot attend a class on Wednesday
Setting Up and Using Lightroom

This course covers setting up Lightroom to prevent later issues, importing photos, and post processing photos. It also covers sharing your photos through printing them or emailing them, creating a book or slideshow .
Introduction to Photoshop or Photoshop Elements
This covers the basics of using either of these programmes including using layers.
